Jim is a proper old school chap, friendly and most importantly set on doing his job as well as possible. I found him by chance when I needed a small job doing (shortening an uneeded gas pipe for the cooker) and didn't hesitate to call him when I had a bigger job to do (moving a radiator from one wall to another, including bending the pipes round a curved bay window wall). Both times he did things tidily and expertly, never in a rush and with a pleasant ammount of genuine friendly chat. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and would go out of my way to use him again. Hope that helps!

Excellent Plumber

I have been using Jim for many years and he provides an excellent service. He has installed my central heating system, a new boiler and my new shower. He services my boiler every year and is a lot cheaper than paying for a service policy. Although not the cheapest, he provides good quality, reliable work so you are not having to get things repaired all the time. Jim is always busy, so you may have to wait for his services but in an emergency he will make time to deal with whatever it is.

He knows his plumbing very well and He is quite knowledgeable about other systems as well. 40 years in plumbing makes him outstanding.. After having a visit from one plumber who diagnosed that a new boiler was the only solution to my problem I rang Jim who swiftly returned my call and then spent 5-6 hours fixing it. Not a cheap repair but much cheaper than a new boiler. Jim showed me what was wrong, what he was doing and was upfront about costs. I guess it boils down to confidence and he inspires very significant amounts of that!

My son moved into a flat just before Xmas and the radiators were only warm, not hot water, leaking and completely blocked kitchen sink. Over 2 visits Jim managed to get everything sorted. What a relief. Very helpful, knowledgeable and adaptable to fit us in at such short notice. Highly recommend.

Jim has been out twice this year. Once to change a pressure relief valve on my combi-boiler, and a second time to find and fix a leak, do a regular service of the boiler, improve the pipework from the mess the previous rogue plumber had left, and balance the radiators. He did a great job, he was clear about the work he was doing, he takes pride in his job and is a lovely fella to boot. Couldn't recommend enough.

Jim has been our plumber for a number of years. I have called him numerous times over the years from big to small jobs. Even during emergencies (no hot water or heat) Jim has been very generous with his time to make sure we got sorted quickly. Everything he does he explains in great detail so I clearly understand the issue and the fix involved (my house is old with an old setup) Even during lockdown when Jim was not allowed into the house I had a couple of issues but Jim talked me through it over the phone and I was able to resolve myself with his guidance. Jim is a great guy with loads of knowledge and experience he is the only man I would trust with our plumbing needs. We are very lucky to have found him . Cannot recommend highly enough! I’ve used Jim for many years now, as does my sister and as did my brother years ago. That we have stuck with him shows he must be good. His greatest strength is the quality of his work. If you’re looking for a cheap firm who cut corners, don’t bother phoning Jim. His work lasts. He’s certainly of the old school, not out to make a fast buck. He gets most of his work through recommendations. He’s very thorough and will get to the bottom of the problem, rather than patching over it. He won’t always suggest ‘getting a new one’, often he is able to fix the existing appliance. He’s also very trustworthy – I leave the house when he’s there and even give him a key. Definitely recommended.
